Frequently asked questions
Will my image be cropped or stretched?
Never. The whole image is always scaled evenly to fit inside each size, keeping its original aspect ratio. Any leftover space is filled with the background colour you choose.
What is the difference between Fit and Contain?
Both keep the entire image visible. Contain scales the image to fill as much of the size as possible, enlarging small images if needed. Fit never enlarges beyond the original resolution, so small images stay sharp and get more background around them.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Every size is generated in your browser with the Canvas API; your image never leaves your device.
Which format should I choose?
JPG works everywhere and is best for photos. WebP gives smaller files at the same quality. PNG is lossless and supports a transparent background, but files are larger.
